Think I've been very blessed with the awesome friends and family around me (: Life's been treating me really well and I'm definitely enjoying it!

Last night was one crazy night. Wenyang, Zhoulin, Gloria and I went for dinner, bowling and the ice cream (: Plus I also need to mention Gloria and my awesome run and ballet class in the morning! Great fun.

I can't wait for our next crazy outing! <3

Finally got a premium case for my iPad 2. After much consideration, I went ahead with the Booqpad In Sand/Plum by www.booqbags.com.

Prior to getting the booqpad, I was considering getting the:

1. Hard Candy- Candy Convertible

2. Speck Pixelskin HD

3. Hard Candy- Candy Note

4. Moleskin Case

5. And of course the... Booqpad

Initially my top 5 priorities in a case were:
1. Snug fit
2. Sophisticated
3. Protects the corners
4. Comes with extra pockets
5. The cover must be able to fold back

The Booqpad only meets #2, #4 and #5. It then occurred to me that paper is just as important as I do jot down notes and drawings in my profession (Costume drawings, last minute class schedules etc) and I carry alot of loose paper and little notebooks in my bag. The pockets will just be perfect for all the loose bits!

The fit of the Booqpad isn't perfect, there's a flap that helps keep the iPad 2 in place. That wasn't so much of an issue. All I had to do was to steal a bit of self adhesive velcro from T's aeroplane toolbox, snip it to size and stuck in down on the flap and the inside of the case.

And voila, now my iPad 2 is all snug and held firmly in place :D I can't do much about the unprotected corners. Am thinking about getting a shield for the back and corners to offer at least a bit of protection.

In case you didn't know, the Booqpad doesn't have a hole in the case for the back camera. Doesn't really affect me much since I use the front camera more. The reason why they don't have a hole is because the Booqpad is made to be versatile- for both right and left handed users, which means they'll have to punch two holes and that'll be very unsightly.

Anyway I am very contented with the Booqpad :D won't be changing to another case for quite a while! Whee (:

Day 1 (30/4/2011):

On the aeroplane, about to touch down in Taipei

Our bus tickets- we took a long bus ride from the airport to Taipei Main Station where we took a train to Zhongshan Station to find our hostel. It turned out that our hostel was only 1 minute away from the station!! :p and the best part? We only paid S$50/night!

We quickly plonked down our luggages and headed out to Ximending where T was eagerly looking for Ah Chung Mee Sua.

The Mee Sua was so awesome, I think I wouldn't mind heading back tonight for it again haha.

Had bubble tea too. No idea what flavor I chose because the only three words in my order that I could read was "Oo-long Cha". Pfffft. I also tried a ma-la Taiwan sausge which was yummers.

After Ximending, we headed to Shilin Night Market. The crowd at Shilin Night Market was super duper crazy.

I tried deep fried milk which was weirdly awesome. It's got such a unique taste.

Day 2 (01/5/2011):

Day 2 start off with lunch at the Modern Toilet Restaurant at Ximending. It's quite a walk from the MRT station but definitely worth it.

We checked out the Red House which was interesting. It's a cultural centre and you can find out more about Ximending inside- like how the Red House used to be a restaurant and market when the Japanese was around!

Taiwanese cheerleaders. Didn't impress me one bit.

All they did was prance around flamboyantly and seductively. This attracted alot of dirty old men and young perverts with video cameras. Gross.

I did a bit of shopping for ballet stuff because it's cheap and they have a better selection here than in Singapore. Got a dark purple leotard for S$16 and three ballet notepads.

Headed to Taipei 101 after. We got our tickets to go up to the observatory deck pretty quick but we had to wait 30-40 minutes before we could queue up for the lift. Meanwhile, we went to 7-11 for a snack.

T had his Taiwanese coke..... And I had....

Tea egg and Caramel Macchiato. The tea egg was average.

The lift bringing us up to the 89th floor had a certificate from the Guinness World Records for being the world's fastest passenger lift. The lift really is fast!

Baby damper. In case you didn't know, the Taipei 101 is not only famous for being one of the tallest buildings in the world but also for the super duper huge damper inside the building. I did not take any photos of the damper because I was so awed and mesmerized and totally forgot about photos. This damper helps minimize the movement of the building in an earthquake by up to 40%!! amazing. The Taipei 101 is amazingly typhoon and earthquake proof. How awesome is that.

T and I went on a quest to search for Infinity Hobby Shop By train and foot.

He's so happy especially when we are going to hunt for airplane stuff.

The rain did not deter us one bit. But what did was that the shop was closed -.- so we changed our destination. Mission failed. We did a fair bit of walking but in the end, we made it to Rao He Tourist Night Market. I was initially a bit hesitant in going to this night market as it was supposedly a touristy one. But it turned out that even alot of the locals come here for the good food.

Queued up for about 20 minutes for this pepper biscuit or whatever it's called. It has got a crispy pastry and peppery meat with spring onions inside. Yum to the max.

There you go. I'm salivating again just looking at it.

Shaved ice. Tasted so much better than the crappy cheapo ones in Singapore. Over here in Taiwan, they are so generous with their toppings!

Walked a bit more and had beef noodles and a side of radish.

Definitely the best beef noodles I've ever had in my entire life. No doubt about that.

We cabbed back to our hostel once we were done at Raohe Tourist Night Market. My legs just couldn't walk anymore. I bet we walked more then 20km in day 2!

Awesome #1.

April started out with a surprise birthday party for Zhoulin. I had so much fun planning the last minute surprise for together with Wenyang and See Hang (:

We went to Spruce and chose to sit inside. It was pretty empty inside as everyone else sat outside so we had the entire place to ourselves.

Wenyang went down a tad earlier to set up a few balloons.

iPad 2. Need I say more? I couldn't resist and wait for Singapore to retail it so..... I bought it. Hah. Anyway, it was wiser to sell away the iPad 1 now when it could fetch a good price. This baby is an early birthday present from me and my hubs- combined effort :p

I love home made pasta. My ravioli and T's risotto were perfectly cooked- al dente. And the prosciutto and mussels were fresh. Love the mussels (I hate seafood so you can tell how good it was)!

One of the best dinners I've had with T (: actually all dinners we've had together are always good. Haha.

Tea has gone up to KL for work since yesterday and won't be back til Sunday afternoon. Been missing him since and I just can't wait til he's back.

We had a great morning before he left, watching him fly his home made styrofoam plane which he made from scratch. It flew surprisingly well despite the unforgiving winds. Tea's getting really good at his aerobatics. So proud of him (:

While he's been away, I've been trying to occupy myself with the girls. Been going swimming with them at the club in the morning.

We also went to Ice Edge for ice cream (: yum.

My florist, who was my aunt, exceeded our expectations with the floral decorations. I had satin ribbons and pearls in my bouquet which made it look really exquisite. Everyone loved the floral decorations so much that they took home the table decors (: nothing was wasted at our wedding!

Cheryl Shuen is an artist. She customised a spectacular cake for us. Now we know why she's so pricey (: The cake not only looks good but taste great as well! Chocolate! Yum.

So our wedding came and went in a breeze and it still feels so surreal like I'm just about waking up from a dream (: I can definitely say our wedding was a success despite threatening skies and the lack of sleep! Everyone did a great job (especially the bridesmaids & bestmen!), the food was awesome, the program was fun with the lomo cameras at every table, cool wedding favors, bouquet throwing, live pianist (thank you Wenyang!)... our wedding was definitely one to remember because we broke away from traditions and did it just the way we wanted (:

Thank you all for your well wishes. We are very very very blessed!

Now, on to Brunei on wednesday for wedding dinner part 2! I am going to be on cloud 9 for a long long long long time!

For Christmas, I got a Lumix G10 (a hybrid micro four thirds camera) from Tea and a new Tamagotchi character from meimei! I love Christmas.

I always try to do the right thing, but I'm always wrong instead.

For the first time ever, Shannon spoke more than I've ever heard over the past 3 months since I've been teaching her and she was flashing her widest smile throughout the entire class.

And I am talking about a 4 year old girl who has never spoken a word since day 1, always stops smiling whenever I have my eyes on her...

As a teacher, I feel like I've achieved the greatest thing ever and seeing her brilliant smile just warms up my heart.

Teaching has definitely been a rewarding experience despite it's ups and downs. Leaving the previous school was a blessing in disguise else I would have never ever gotten to this level of teaching. Not that in the most brilliant teacher, I'm still learning. I would have probably just ended up in the dumps if I were to stayed on at my ex work place.

Whee. So the iPad has been with me for slightly less than two months now and seriously, thank God (and Tea) for the iPad.

Got a new Hard Candy case for it since this case offers a better protection and also looks sleeker than my Tunewear Folio.

Top 10 reasons why my iPad is so awesome

#1: It's HD. Bigger better sharper screen.

#2. It's got really great calendar apps to replace my trusty moleskine

#3. It's the right size for a portable movie player

#4. With the right apps, storing .avi files is easy peasy lemon squeezy

#5. Twitter on the iPad beats the one on the iPhone anytime cos of the layout and eye soothing font size

#6. I can store a gazillion books and not feel like they are weighing my shoulders down

Yawn. Today's supposed to be my off day but I'm relieving class for someone later. Oh well. Wanna have Hardrock's set lunch now but first, I gotta wake Tea up.

Can't wait for the next wakeboarding trip. A little less scared of the sea now (note: A LITTLE). It still spooks me when the instructor drives to some scary mangrove area with dark murky waters and mangrove roots. Looks like there could be salt water crocs lurking around. But anyway, I was lucky enough to be in the mangrove area during my set and Evan caught a pic of me and the Rescue Hover Craft (: He told me to edge out toe side and he snapped a picture. Thank God no falls in the dark murky waters. Eerg.

Latest addition to my Apple family- the iPad. Don't give a shit that people are speculating that the iPad 2 is coming out year end. This baby is the perfect size to read eBooks, play game and watch movies. The awesome calendar function is a bonus too. And it so much easier planning the wedding with the iPad. I read my CBTS notes off it too and it beats carrying all the heavy folders of notes around. Love it.

My board finally arrived the end of last month and I was ecstatic. Got started on fixing on the bindings and applying on my personalised vinyl sticker. Couldn't wait to get up and riding on it except that we weren't going to be boarding anytime soon. Had to wait a good one week before I finally had a go on it.

I love my board. It's so simple, with intricate designs and best of all, it's in my favourite color.

Hyperlite Producer Bag. Found out this bag was a tad too bulky for day trips to Batam and Ski360 so Tea bought me a Ten-80 Edge Protector for my luna. The producer bag will come in handy for overseas cabling trips! (Can't wait to try out the Seisitic 2.0 System in Melbourne. Wonder how it's like.)

Finally got to test out my board on my first wakeboarding trip together with Tea, Tiffany and Evan. Boat ride out from Marina Country Club was fun (: kinda made me want my own boat haha.

The Unboxing of a Mega Shipment

Shipment from the US finally arrived (without my board!) and there were many interesting finds in it!

In it came many interesting games, including my long awaited Burger Joint, Great Wall of China as well as Dominion's new expansion- Dominion: Alchemy. Of course the hype of it all was the War of the Rings Collector's Edition (: Only 2000 copies in the entire world.

Had quite a bit of difficulty taking the game out of the box as it weighs an astounding 20.909KG. Possibly one of the heaviest game? Even heavier than Settlers of Catan Collector's Edition.

Ahhh yesterday was a day well spent at the Cable Park in Batam. Finally managed to stand on the wakeboard and go a good half around before smashing into the waters (: pleasant surprise when I first managed to stand on the board. Stinky Dufa

Dufa's staying at Tea's place for a bit while Tham attends to some urgent matters. Hope Tham's alright! I think Tea is regretting his decision of allowing Dufa to camp over at his place because Dufa smells strongly of.... a dog? I guess he just has a stronger doggy smell than others. Poor Tea. (P.S. It is NOT my idea to take in Dufa!)

A little about Dufa. He's an adopted dog from the police. He used to work with the police and he's retired now. For a dog his age, he sure behaves like a kid. He's a cool dog, very obedient and simple. Not spoiled at all like some toy dog.

Anyway, I think he loves Fidget (our chinchilla). The moment he saw Fidget, he froze. Then he started wagging his tail furiously. I had to stop him from chasing Fidget from one end of the cage to the other. I think Fidget must have been scared shit by the friendly giant haha. It was interesting to watch the two animals.

Dufa is one patient dog. He can sit next to Fidget's cage and stare at the chinchilla without getting bored.

Anyone knows how to get rid of doggy odours?!

Grace is loving the month of April. Morton's on the 15/04/2010 was yummers. The steak was mouthwatering, perfectly done... Had a personalized menu, free birthday dessert and a card with well wishes from Morton's and a photo of us all in it too. Service there is top notch and I truly enjoyed the whole dining experience (: (The bill wasn't so nice though, oops!)

Apple came back with a brand new MacBook for me yesterday. The previous one had some screen defect. Anyhow, I managed to load Sims 3 on it and it's all good and running. Shaun's getting me the Speck case from New York since it's cheaper there (:

Hah. As if. Caught this movie last night at Shaw Cineplex and it is definitely the best family movie I've watched by far in 2010. I was all smiles after the show, imagining how nice it'll be to own a Night Fury (: definitely worth buying the blu-Ray DVD once it's out *makes a mental note*.

I had such a great off day this week. Tanning with Tea at sentosa with Allison and her friend Will from Wales. East meets west. Then good old Marutama Ramen after. Mmm my favourite.

Me minding my own business, making full use of the sun. The reason why Tea's not in the picture is cos he kept complaining that the sun's too scorching hot and he pulled his puny mat under a shady coconut tree. What a princess haha.

Saw Universal Studios on my way in to the beach and boy, the Battlestar Galactica Coasters look freakishly awesome. They are massive. It'll be one hell of a ride, can hardly wait to visit (:

I'm so sleepy. As of now, I am sleep deprived. Money deprived. Shopping deprived. Food deprived.

Sleep deprived- slept at 4.30am and woke up at 8am for tuition.

Money deprived- ehhh I wish I'm working less hours with better returns so it leaves me more time to do more stuff.

Allison got us an engagement gift- wedding organizer from kikki.k, just what I wanted! I even almost bought it (:

Thanks to Jon and Allison, Tea and I had to go up on stage when the band announced our engagement to everyone. It was embarassing and a little shocking to some of the Hardrockers (: Lillith was kind enough to surprise us with a brownie.

Tea was probably cursing at Jon and Allison for embarassing us! Believe it or not but in my 5 years of working at Hardrock, I have never been "sabo-ed" and asked to go on stage before.

Steve the bartender gave Tea and I some shot which tasted funny. It was nice of him though.

11 February 2010 marks the most important, most exciting and also the most exhilarating night of my 23 years (:

Tea asked me out for an early Valentine's dinner because he'll be heading back to Brunei for Chinese New Year. So to Zen we went (a little restaurant at east coast park with really scrumptious Japanese fusion cuisine).

We had sake (: my first time trying it. It was yummy, sweet.

As long there's great food, I'm always happy haha.

I had poached cod in wild mushroom broth. Super duper yummers!! Thinking of it now makes me salivate (:

Tea had steak, which they claim it tastes like Kobe. It turned out really great too.

My Valentine's bouquet. So pretty- 3 red roses and 9 white. I know I'm very flower deprived but this is probably the first time someone has given me 12 roses!! Haha.

And then... We took a stroll along east coast after dinner with our coffee bean latte and I'll let you imagine the rest (: I'm all smiles now still. Last night was like a fairytale. No word in the dictionary can describe the myriad of feelings I felt last night- from happy, relaxed to shocked, then nervous and back to damn bloody happy. Haha. It was like an emotional roller coaster (:

Tea planned a little party after with all the voideckers and boardgamers. It was another good surprise. I'm glad Janice, Cheryl and Joys turned up (:

It's time to shop for a brand new bag. My trusty 4 month old $12 Isetan bag is falling apart. I've been desperately patching up all the holes and tears but to no avail. I reckon it's time to dig out money for a new one. Boo. I hate spending money on bags. I'm not your average shopaholic girl next door.

I pretty much prefer putting the money to "good use" on things like gadgets. Which is why I sold my lavender psp for a nintendo DSi (I'm still quite sad that I don't have my psp anymore but I'll get over it!!).

I'm glad that I didn't sleep in and back out on going to the airport to send Xilan off early this morning.

Seeing her happy with just about the simplest things in life made me appreciate what I have better.

I was amused to see how happy she was to take a normal flight for once (despite it being China Eastern Airlines) instead of flying budget without meals and horrible uncomfortable seats for four painstaking hours. She was such a ball of happiness, practically bouncing when the customs were checking her passport.

Quite sad that she won't be working with me at the school anymore. Guess now I've got to hold the fort alone...

2009 has been a really great year, with many surprises and much happiness (: can't really remember one time when I was really upset.

2010 started off well too. How time flies. Now that the holidays are over, I'm back to work. No complains though since I managed to get so much rest during the holidays. Only downside to 2010 is that I'm down with a cold virus now.

What a tiring day. Started off with the usual dosage of work today, then headed down to the east for a game of soccer with TSOD people for a fundraising event. I only agreed to it initally as it was for a good cause but it didn't turn out badly and I found that I actually do like playing soccer.

Am aching quite a bit now and would actually love to laze around on the coach watching discovery travel and living (:

I'm just done reading Cecelia Ahern's The Book of Tomorrow, what a great story.

She's never failed to get me enthralled with her stories.

I'm looking forward to getting another one of her books- The Gift. Might also consider getting P.S. I love you (even though I've already read it).

Definitely going to re-read it again.

There's this special someone at work whom I truly look up to. I admire her work attitude- making work all fun and interesting. Though tiring, the learning never ends. I have never looked forward to work so much or gotten so involved in my work that time passes by in the blink of an eye.

The best part of working with her? Is hearing all her previous airline experience and funny little stories. She's such a joy to work with.

I hope she never leaves.

Working full time is no easy feat. I've been running around alot especially since the CSTD exams are nearing. It's been fun yet draining preparing for it. Jazz exam is on the 24th November. Can't wait to get it over and done with.

As much as I'm enjoying work, I can't wait for the little Brunei getaway. Will be able to see Tiffany and Tracy again. Yays. I love them holiday season!

It's one of those gloomy days again where nothing seems to be going well, frowns are common and the brain is bursting with thoughts after thoughts.

I want to do ABS Summer School 2010 but the price just does not seem to be working out for me.

I want to the school to stop chasing me for money and honor their stupid empty promises.

I want to earn a decent salary so that I can save, spend and pay for my bills without getting a headache each month.

I've been yearning for the perfect wallet for the past year and sadly, the one that I wanted from Coach is long out of season. I guess it's not a bad thing, especially when I saw this purple envelope wallet on Kate Spade's website and better still, it was on sale (= Being patient is, afterall, a good thing. Thank you baby for the wallet.
I also got my Coach Madison Wristlet in Plum today from my cousin who's back from a US flight. Thank you thank you for running all over New York to search for it!

It's a purple fiesta! Purple wristlet, purple wallet, purple iPhone cover, purple psp + cover, purple leotards... I'm crazy happy =p I'm feeling o-so-pampered today. Don't think I'll be shopping again anytime soon!

Here I'm working shitloads, running around the whole day between tuitions and TSOD, there my money is flying away. Oh man, I am exhausted. Been working non-stop for the past 10 days. My schedules were (and still is) crazy packed. I've not gotten a proper sleep in weeks and I'm looking like a hideous ghost.

I am definitely looking forward to my movie date with Tea, Jocelyn, Allison and Jalene tonight at the Cathay after class. I am also craving for Blue Basil again )= I've been to Blue Basil three times and all three times, I've ordered the same old dishes. It's always:

1. Tomato and Basil Soup

2. Grilled Chicken

3. Raspberry Creme Brulee

Reason for doing so? The three dishes above is just too awesome for my liking for me to order something else.

I actually had a hell lot to do this past week which I haven't got down to doing.

And I'm trying to figure out how.

Shaun's leaving this Thursday for the US, which is kinda sad 'cos he's one of my bestest ever friend. One who's never failed to be around whenever I needed him. And it also means no more complete "MAFIA" outings- one less person in the group.

There's just been too much on my mind that I want a break. A little holiday would be so good right now.
